James Basden  

James is a Founding Director of Corven, responsible for managing major consulting relationships at board level within FTSE 100 size clients, running corporate finance transactions, and overseeing Corven’s private equity investments.

James has fourteen years consulting experience covering the Utilities, Construction, Banking, Automotive, Leisure and Retail sectors. His expertise ranges from strategy development to major performance improvement programmes, with a particular focus on managing corporate turnarounds and establishing new business ventures.

Prior to Corven, James led the turnaround of a leading UK sport cars and engineering group as interim CEO for Lotus Cars. Further back in his career, James worked in strategy consulting for CSC Index, Andersen Consulting, and Burson-Marsteller.

James is Chief Executive of Corven Corporate Finance and Corven Ventures, and is Non Executive Chairman of Caterham Cars Ltd. He holds a BA Honours degree in English Literature from Durham University, an MBA from London Business School, is an associate member of the Securities Institute and is approved by the FSA to carry out investment business.
